This is our new baby Green Winged Macaw's scrapbook!
We hope you will enjoy watching our baby grow with us!

The fertile egg
This was the first photo of our baby!
Just a tiny spot inside the egg!

The first external pip!
On June 19, 1999, our baby had drawn down in the egg and made his first pip!
You can probably imagine our excitement... but hatching is a slow process.
At this point it will still be a while before he makes his way out.
This process usually takes 48-72 hours...
It's a lot of work for such a little guy!

Just before 6am, on June 21, 1999 I got the call I was waiting for!!
Here are some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen!
These were taken just moments after the baby hatched!

...after he's been cleaned up a bit :)

Curled up and ready for a nap!

Weighing in... a whopping 24 grams!

We have names picked out... Fizban if it's a boy, Gracie if it's a girl.
(we'll know once the baby is old enough to have a little blood taken from a tonail for the test)

Here's another pic of our little sweetheart...
Isn't that a sweet face? Looks like a little smile there to me!

Here's a pic of the baby with his brooder buddies... they all hatched the same day!
Left to Right - Sun Conure, Green Winged Macaw (guess who?!), and Umbrella Cockatoo.
I think the one in the middle is the prettiest! (tee-hee...)

We are very pleased and excited that our baby has finally arrived,
and happy to have the opportunity to share this miracle with our friends on the net!
Please visit often, as I know we'll be updating a lot!

A very special Thank You goes to Linda and Roy at True Companion Aviary
for the special care they give all their babies
and for keeping us updated with information and photos!

Any comments or suggestions (or congratulations.. snicker..), please e-mail me!
