Twenty-three days old here and 269 grams!
Getting bigger every time I turn around!
See how big his wing is getting?

Here's some shots of our baby with Matisse (on the right), a Moluccan Cockatoo
who hatched a few days before our little guy. Our baby is 26 days old here and
weighs in at 326 grams!

Boy or Girl???
We're going to find out!

Here's Roy standing by, getting ready to assist Linda
in taking a blood sample to be sent off to the lab and
tested... soon we'll know if we have a boy or girl!

One of the most important things about taking blood samples is
to insure that all instruments used are sterile to prevent infection
and also to prevent any cross contamination between samples.

"Gee, what's goin' on?"

Roy is getting the baby ready for Linda
to come in and take the blood sample.

Here, Linda cuts the nail to obtain the blood sample.
Once the sample has been taken, they insure that the nail
has clotted well. Then Roy takes the baby for major
cuddles while Linda does the necessary paperwork.

Here's the sample all ready to go!
It will take a week or so for the results to come back.
Linda said our baby did just great during the procedure!
Such a little trooper! I'm so proud :)

A very special Thank You goes to Linda and Roy at True Companion Aviary
for the special care they give all their babies
and for keeping us updated with information and photos!

Any comments or suggestions (or congratulations.. snicker..), please e-mail me!
