Loki

Loki is a Congo African Grey parrot. She came to live with us in October, 1997. She was 4 months old. When she FINALLY arrived (her flight was delayed, and the breeder and I were frantically on the phone to various departments of the airline and each other) she was so happy to step out of her crate! She was in that box for so long and I was afraid she would be upset with us when we let her out, but instead she took turns walking back and forth between my husband and I just so she could get her head scratched! She stole my heart away the minute I saw her and she has been my sweetheart ever since. :)

Loki has many words and phrases in her vocabulary. She imitates my husband, my daughter, the cat, the dog, the smoke alarm (to which she follows with "Stop that nasty noise!") and of course the other birds! I know she has a sense of humor. She makes the cat jump when she meows at him as he walks by...hahaha :) She whistles for the dog, says "Cocoa.. hey Cocoa, come here..." Dog walks up. "Wanna go outside?" Then she chuckles.

She doesn't imitate my voice, but that's okay.. she comes to me for cuddles which to me is the ultimate reward :)

Some Pics of my Sweetie...
